| Comments: | | It is very difficult to distinguish between Devario shanensis and Devario maetaengensis. This has provoked much discussion among aquarists. It would seem that one has to rely on the importer knowing the actual catching location to be sure of the identity. Mr Kamphol tells me that the shanensis is much thinner in the caudal peduncle area, and that the black bars are generally narrower. Is now readily available in the UK. |
