Comments: | | This species appeared as Devario malabaricus 'red' and was positively
identified by Tin Win of Hein Aquarium.
It was originally classified as a synonym of Devario aequipinnatus but was
recognised as a separate species by Fang Fang in her paper of April 2000. It
differs from D. aequipinnatus in that it has a unique colour pattern and
dentition. It has two gold lines which meet in a loop just behind the
operculum. |
